How Did Desserts Come Into Origin

Are you someone who likes to eat deserts? Dessert is known to be a course concluding a meal. The course consists of sweet foods like confectionery and beverages such as wine, desserts, and liquor. In some parts of the country, like the central and western parts of Africa and most parts of China, there is no such tradition. Deserts can complement any dish with its remarkable taste and quality to enhance the food value.

Types of deserts to taste

The types of desserts are in multitude. You can have any of it according to your preference. Some of them are as follows:

  • Confection
  • Cakes
  • Frozen
  • Deep-fried
  • Custards
  • Small cakes
  • Pastries
  • Brownies
  • Cupcakes
  • Gelatine
  • Pudding

How many categories of desserts are there?

Some of the categories of desserts are as follows:

#1. Baked desserts

Baked desserts can be made by keeping the ingredients in a hot oven. Some of the examples of it are muffins and cake, which are made by a mixture of sugar, oil, flour, baking powder, and chocolates. Some of the bread-like banana and raisin bread can also be made following the same mixture. You can also make cookies.

#2. Fried Desserts

Fried desserts can be made with the help of a cooking procedure called deep frying. To fry the food in depth, a wide pot filled with oil can be heated after the food is kept in the pot. One of the common examples is doughnuts.

#3. Frozen Desserts

Frozen desserts are made with the help of blending all the ingredients in a freezer. One of the examples is ice cream which is made with a mixture of sugar, milk, cream, and flavorings. Milkshakes can also be made with the same mixture. And different types of sherbets could also be made.

#4. Chilled Desserts

Many desserts can also be made without taking the help of an oven or the freezer. One of the common examples is Trifle made after soaking ladyfinger biscuits with the coverage of whipped cream in sherry. You can also chill it with the help of the refrigerator.

Some of the delicious recipes like instant pudding and chocolate mousse desserts can also be made properly without cooking. You can make it by simply making the mixture with the help of an instant pudding powder using milk. After preparation, you can keep it for some time in the refrigerator. Happy tasting!
